Hebrews 11:32-34 (NET)

“And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets. Through faith they conquered kingdoms, administered justice, gained what was promised, shut the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength in weakness, became mighty in battle, put foreign armies to flight.”

Faith isn't easy for us as humans. We are taught to be self-sufficient, to do for ourselves and handle everything life throws at us. Some people are taught this self-sufficiency in the manner they are raised, others are taught by hard examples of being disappointed by those they trust.

We are often more surprised by people's kindness than evil intentions because faith is opening ourselves up to possible disappointment and ridicule. If we are taken advantage of or "duped" by others, there is a sense of shame, a feeling that we should have known better. Why did we trust? We protect ourselves by pushing our faith down and relying only on ourselves.

The Bible tells us that through faith unimaginable miracles have occurred. Not mere kindnesses or happiness, but life and death. A person's very existence and survival on this earth. God has provided strength to destroy thousands, prevented imminent death, given wisdom and equality beyond our human understanding. The very course of human history has been defined by a person’s faith in God.

Consider the amount of effort that is required to change the course of the future. Is that level of effort required to assist you? Does an entire nation need to be destroyed to alter the direction of your life? Likely not. But it’s hard for us to change our mind set and old habits.

Adopting a mentality of faith versus one of skepticism requires a lot of work. Don’t let those online articles fool you, it takes much more than 30 days to change habits. You’re not failing at it. The human brain can be stubborn like that. Still, how does one go about training their mind to this state of faith in God?

At CFG, we understand the struggles of the human mind and we know the work that needs to be done for you to change your habits permanently. Our program is designed to guide you through the process for permanent change.

The Courage class teaches you to take that step into the unknown and allow God to shore up your strength.

The Faith class works to help you listen to God and trust him to guide the direction of your life.

Lastly, the Gratitude class teaches you to take all that you’ve learned and share that success with others.

In following with God’s directive of fellowship, the program partners you with other people of faith to surround yourself with others that lift you up. CFG provides a mentor to assist and most importantly gives you as much or as little time as you need to go through the process.
